If your Windows 10 Home PC is slow, malfunctioning, or experiencing excessive CPU and RAM usage, it may be infected with malware . We've provided the following steps to remove the malware using Microsoft Defender Offline Scan.
Removing malware using Microsoft Defender offline scanning
In addition to fast, comprehensive and customized scans, Residence Home windows Security offers the possibility of using Microsoft Defender in offline mode to remove malware from computer systems.
Offline scanning is specifically designed to remove long-standing and hard-to-detect forms of viruses or malware from a Windows home computer.
Some forms of malware (NTRootkit, Fama, Machiavelli and various forms of Rootkit viruses) have the power to bypass the Windows home shell and avoid detection in routine malware scans.
When Windows Home Security is used in offline mode, it scans the PC from outside the Windows Home kernel, allowing it to focus on rootkits and various forms of viruses that attempt to contaminate or overwrite the boot record.
Remove malware with Microsoft Defender offline scanning
Follow the steps below to remove malware from your computer using Microsoft Defender in offline mode.
1. Go to Settings > Replacement and security > choose Home Windows Home Security in the left pane and click on Virus & threat protection in the right pane.
