Windows 10 HDMI Output Problems: What to Do?

HDMI is a very popular, high-quality connection for video and audio, and it's no wonder so many people use it. HDMI users have complained of various problems when using Windows 10. All versions of Windows are affected by these HDMI issues, including Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 8.1, and Windows 10.

Windows 10 HDMI Output Problems: What to Do?

1. Check your hardware

Before you dive into complex troubleshooting steps, check your hardware first. Make sure the HDMI cables are inserted properly and that all connections are working properly.

This is the checklist to review:

• Check that the HDMI cable is still connected. Reconnect the cable. Purchase an HDMI cable connector to ensure it is properly connected . HDMI blocks .

• Only then can you connect your HDMI TV/HDMI speaker. Turn off your HDMI TV or speaker and then turn them off completely. After waiting for a while, you can turn them back on. Follow these steps to refresh your HDMI connection.

The problem was resolved by installing the Intel HD Display drivers on Windows 8.1. Then I was able to select "Sony TV" as my audio output option.

Windows 10 requires you to click Properties, then go to the Driver tab to locate the Undo option. As you can see, the option is usually greyed out, as shown in this screenshot.

Sometimes it is better to just use the default driver, to avoid compatibility issues. The default driver will be installed automatically if you uninstall the driver. You can uninstall the driver by following this link:

4. Update drivers
