Fix “Sim card not inserted” error on iPhone

No Sim Card Installed on iPhone

Normally, the iPhone does not detect SIM card and shows a student error message “No SIM card inserted” or “SIM card not detected”. Below are the steps to fix “No SIM card” error on iPhone.

There is no SIM card inserted in the iPhone

Normally, the “No SIM card inserted” or “Invalid SIM” error messages should only appear on the iPhone when the SIM card is lost, locked, or broken.

However, the “No SIM Card” error can also occur on the iPhone due to community issues, uninstalled updates, minor software issues, and other causes.

Therefore, it is highly recommended that you try to resolve this issue using the strategies given below before purchasing a new SIM card.

1. Reboot iPhone

In case you haven't tried it yet, restart your phone and see if the problem goes away.

Let the iPhone turn off > Wait 30 seconds and Reboot your system.

2. Turning airplane mode on and off

Turning Airplane Mode on and off was helpful in fixing the “SIM card not inserted” error on Apple’s website.

3. Configure updates

Don't forget to put the latest model of iOS in your system.

4. Check the SIM card for damage

Remove the SIM card from your iPhone and make sure it is not damaged or broken in any way. Also make sure the SIM card tray is clean and free of any mud particles.

You can use a torch to poke into the SIM tray opening and remove any mud (if any). Reinsert the SIM card into your iPhone and make sure the SIM card tray is closed properly.

5. Try the SIM card in another phone

If you have an unlocked iPhone, remove the SIM card from your iPhone and put it in another iPhone or phone Android.

Check if the SIM card works on the other phone. If it does, remove the SIM card and reinsert it into your iPhone.

Please note your WiFi community password and follow the steps below to reset the community settings on your system to factory defaults.

7. Reboot iPhone

If the above options did not work, follow the steps below to completely reset your system.

Then hold the button Appearance button (power button), until the screen dims and the iPhone begins to display the Apple logo.
