This can be a very useful feature if you are one of those who are trying to reduce mobile data usage on your Android phone or one of those who are totally dependent on WiFi and use your Android phone without a SIM card.

However, this feature will be really annoying when you are probably not trying to connect to a public WiFi and your Android phone is continuously bothering you with public WiFi notifications.

Steps to disable WiFi notifications on an Android phone

Follow the steps below to disable WiFi notifications on your Android phone.

1. Open Settings on your Android phone.

2. On the parameter display screen, press WiFi (See image below).

3. On the WiFi screen, tap the Additional option button (or 3 dots ) in the upper right corner of your screen to access a drop-down menu.

4. In the drop-down menu, click the Up option button.

5. On the next screen, turn off the Community Notification option and switch the alternator to OFF instead.

From now on, your Android phone will no longer bother you with notifications every time you discover an open or public WiFi community.
