
Some users report encountering the error NSEZ-403 (sorry, we're having trouble with your request) when trying to start video playback in Netflix. Most affected users report that this issue only occurs with certain titles available on Netflix. The issue is reported to appear on Windows, macOS, iOS, Android and some OS available in Smart TV.
After researching this particular issue, it turns out that there are several disparate issues that could be responsible for this error. Here is a list of potential scenarios that could be responsible for this Netflix error code:
- interference VPN or proxy: A VPN solution or proxy service can also cause this type of problem and result in Netflix blocking the connection due to a violation of geolocation rules. In this case, you should be able to resolve the issue by choosing a different VPN/Proxy provider or getting rid of the service altogether.
- Netflix profile with glitches: It turns out there is one, but it affects Windows-only Netflix users, which causes certain profiles to show titles that aren't actually available for your current location. You can resolve this issue by deleting the profile before creating a new one from scratch.
- Corrupted Netflix Cookie: This issue can also occur due to a partially corrupted cookie or due to incorrectly saved cookie data related to Netflix. In this case, you can fix the issue by deleting the Netflix cookie using the script dedicated Netflix account or you can do it manually from your browser settings.
- The acceleration of hardware is causing reproduction problemsIf you only see this error when trying to stream content from a low-end PC, it's likely that hardware acceleration is having trouble taking over due to your CPU's limitations. To resolve this issue in this case, you need to disable hardware acceleration completely.
Methods to fix error NSEZ-403 on Netflix
Now that you are familiar with all the scenarios that could trigger this error code, here is a list of methods that other affected users have successfully put into practice to resolve the issue. Error NSEZ-403 on Netflix:
Disable VPN or proxy server
According to many of the affected users, this type of issue is often caused by a VPN solution that is scrubbing Netflix incorrectly and determining that it blocks the connection to the device that is handling the playback.
It turns out that Netflix has a habit of rejecting connections routed through an anonymizing app, especially on Windows.
In this case, you should be able to fix the problem by disabling or uninstalling your VPN or Proxy server. Many users who are having trouble with Netflix playback have confirmed that this method is effective.
If you are using a VPN client or proxy server, follow the steps below to uninstall or disable these two anonymity solutions to avoid a conflict with the Netflix app:
A. Disabling the proxy server
- Open a Run dialog box by pressing the Windows key + R. Then type the command Cpl inside the text box and press Enter to open the tab Internet Properties.
- Once you are inside the tab Properties, go to the tab Connections(from the menu at the top), then click on LAN settings (At Local Area Network LAN Configuration).
- Inside the menu Configuration of the local area network (LAN), go ahead and click on the proxy server and then uncheck the box associated with Use a proxy server for your LAN.
After you have disabled the server proxy, you will restart your computer and check if the problem is solved at the next system startup.
B. Uninstalling the VPN client
- Press the Windows key + R to open a dialog box Run. After this, within the message that just appeared on the screen, you must write this command Cpl inside the text box and press Enter to open the screen Programs and Features.
- Inside the menu Programs and Features, scroll down the list of installed programs and locate the system-level VPN that you think might be conflicting with Netflix.
- Once you manage to locate the VPN client that you suspect might be interfering, right-click on it and select the option that says uninstallin the newly appeared context menu.
- When you are finally inside the uninstall screen, follow the instructions to complete the uninstallation, then restart your computer and check if you can use the content of Steam from Netflix without seeing the same NSEZ 403 error.
If the same error still occurs, I recommend you try the following potential solution described below.
Delete the problematic Netflix profile
It turns out that this problem of Error NSEZ-403 It can also be related to some kind of inconsistent data related to a particular corrupted Netflix profile. In this case, the problem is out of your control, but it turns out that you can do something to make it go away.
Several affected users have confirmed that they managed to resolve the issue by deleting the profile (not the account) and creating a new one to replace it.
Note: While this has a good chance of allowing you to fix this problem, there is one major drawback: any saved information about those profiles' preferences will be lost at the end of this procedure.
If you want to get around this, follow the instructions below to delete the problematic Netflix profile and replace it with a new equivalent that doesn't have the same problem:
- The first is the first, access Netflix from your PC (any browser, it doesn't matter) and log in with the account that is triggering the NSEZ-403 error code.
- Click on Log In(top right corner) of the screen, then enter your Netflix credentials to log in successfully.
- Once you successfully log in, click on your active profile icon (top right corner of the screen), then you need to click on Manage Profiles from the list of available options within the drop-down menu.
- On the menu Manage Profiles, you are going to click on the profile that is causing the error.
- When you are inside the problematic profile's configuration menu, click on Delete profile at the bottom of the screen.
- Confirm the operation in the confirmation message and wait until the process is completely killed.
- Once the operation has finally completed, create a new profile from scratch, log into it, and see if you still see the same error code when trying to play certain titles.
If the problem is still not solved, do not hesitate to try the following method that we are going to describe to you.
Delete Netflix cookie
It turns out that one of the most common instances that will produce this error is a partially corrupted cookie or incorrectly saved cookie data that is forcing Netflix to terminate the connection.
If this is the root cause of the problem, there are 2 different possible solutions you can implement:
- You can perform a full cleanup to clear your browser's entire cache folder and also delete the current cookies your browser is using.
- You can ONLY delete cookies that belong to Netflix.
Note: If you decide to go with the focused approach, you should only delete the cookies associated with Netflix. But if you're dealing with some kind of interference caused by a cookie that's outside of Netflix's purview, the best approach is to perform a full cookie and cache data clear.
But regardless of which option you want to choose, we have put together 2 separate guides that will walk you through the bot processes:
A. Clear Netflix cookie and cache
- Open the browser in which you are encountering the error Error NSEZ-403, visit the page dedicated to deleting Netflix cookies.
Note: This page contains an automated Netflix script that will automatically delete dedicated cookies stored by Netflix on popular browsers. This will work on the vast majority of third-party browsers, as well as Internet Explorer and Edge.
- Once you successfully visit the above page, you will be automatically logged out of your Netflix account. Please revisit the Netflix page and log in to your account again by inserting your credentials again.
- After you log in with your Netflix account again, try streaming content once more and see if the issue is now resolved.
B. Delete all cookies and cache from your browser
In case clearing Netflix cookies is not enough for you or if you are using a browser that is not compatible with the Netflix cleanup script, it might be better to clear all cookies and cache from your browser.
Note: If you are using a chromium based browser that is not covered in your guide, you can simply follow the guide for Google Chrome.
If you have already tried clearing cookies and cache and you are still encountering the same NSEZ-403 error, try the next potential solution listed in the next section.
Open your browser without extensions or add-ons
Several users who also encountered the error NSEZ-403 When trying to stream content from Netflix you have been identified with a problematic extension in Google Chrome or a problematic plugin in Firefox.
If you only see this error while streaming Netflix content from your Firefox or Google Chrome browser, you may be able to fix the problem by making sure your browser is open in safe mode (no extensions or plugins allowed).
Depending on your browser of choice (Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome), follow one of the instructions below to ensure that extensions or add-ons are not allowed to run.
A. Disable add-ons within Firefox
If you are using Firefox, the quickest way to resolve this issue is to start Firefox in Safe Mode.
Safe Mode will start Firefox without any add-ons (extensions or themes) installed. If the problem no longer occurs while add-ons are disabled, you can conclude that one of them is causing the problem while Firefox is running in normal mode.
Here's how to check if this is true:
- Start by opening Firefox and typing the section about:support within the navigation bar. Then press Enter to directly access the menu Troubleshooting information.
- Once you are inside the menu Troubleshooting information, Click on Restart with plugins disabled(At Try safe mode). When the confirmation window appears, you need to click on Restart once again.
- In the next Firefox Safe Mode confirmation window, you need to click on Start in safe mode to finally trigger the reset.
- Then, wait until your browser restarts in Safe Mode before checking if the issue persists when trying to stream content from Netflix.
- If the same problem no longer occurs, restart your browser to return to normal mode.
- Then type the command about: addons inside the navigation bar and press
- Once you get to the extensions menu, disables systematically remove all installed extensions until you discover the culprit.
- After finding out which of the installed extensions is causing the problem, delete it and restart your browser.
- Finally, go back to Netflix and see if the problem is now fixed.
B. Disabling extensions within Google Chrome
- Start by opening Google Chrome and type the command chrome://extensions/within the navigation bar before pressing Enter to open the tab Extensions.
- Once you get to the correct window, make sure that all the switches belonging to each installed extension are set to
- After all the features have been disabled Extensions, restart your Chrome browser and see if the Netflix issue has been resolved.
- If the issue stops occurring, go back to the Extension menu and systematically re-enable all extensions you previously disabled and test video playback within Netflix to find out which extension is causing the issue.
In case this solution does not resolve the NSEZ-403 error within Netflix, continue with the next potential solution below.
Disable hardware acceleration
Hardware acceleration can also be the underlying causes that might trigger this streaming error with Netflix.
This feature is enabled by default in both Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox and is known to cause issues with streaming services on low-spec PCs.
Some users who have also been experiencing issues with Error NSEZ-403 have managed to fix the problem after disabling hardware acceleration from the browser settings.
Important: These changes may cause some streaming hiccups (lags and crashes), but it's still better than not being able to stream content from Netflix at all.
To make things easier for you, we have created 2 separate sub-guides that will walk you through the process of disabling hardware acceleration in Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome:
A. Disabling hardware acceleration in Google Chrome
- Open your Google Chrome browser and click on the action button (top right corner of the screen).
- Then, from the newly appeared context menu, click on Configuration.
- Inside the menu Configuration, use the function of Search Settings at the top of the screen to look for the option that says hardware acceleration.
- In the list of results, disable the switch associated with Use hardware acceleration when available.
- Once you make this change, restart your browser and try streaming on Netflix again on the next browser launch.
B. Disabling hardware acceleration in Mozilla Firefox
- Open the Mozilla Firefox browser and click on the action button (top right corner of the screen).
- From the context menu that just appeared, click on Preferences and then access the panel General admission from the following menu.
- Inside the tab General admission, scroll down to the category Unlimited and uncheck Use recommended performance settings. By doing this, you will reveal additional options.
- Once the additional settings are revealed, go ahead and uncheck the box associated with Use hardware acceleration when available.
- Restart your browser and see if the problem is now resolved.

If none of the above methods have proven effective in your case, your last resort is to contact a Netflix support agent LIVE and ask them to investigate your particular situation.
Please note that other users facing the same Error NSEZ-403 have reported that in their case, the problem turned out to be related to a geolocation issue affecting their account – The list of playable content included titles that were not available in their country. So every time they tried to play a title that was actually not available, this error would appear.
