Low FPS Issues

World War 3 is a game that received a lot of attention after its announcement, however, development has been losing some effectiveness due to the technical problems that accumulate without a visible solution date. Most of these technical problems usually go unnoticed, although one of the most talked about are the low fps issues.

This usually happens when you try to play a game, and there is even a chance that you may notice that your FPS has dropped significantly, causing you to not be able to enjoy the game.

To help you fix low FBS issues in World War 3, we have prepared this post for you. We invite you to read on and learn the most notable solutions to put an end to this error.

What causes low FPS issues in World War 3?

After many complaints from users, we conducted an in-depth investigation into these issues and compiled a list of all possible causes that could trigger these problems:

  • Not enough CPU power: Poor performance can be caused by the fact that the game isn't using as much CPU power as it can. This causes stuttering and lower than normal FPS, especially when the game's bottleneck is actually the CPU processing. To fix this, you need to dedicate more CPU to the game by increasing the power you're using. This is something you can do from the Registry Editor, but it will only be effective if you have a CPU that supports it.
  • RAM leak: These issues can also be caused by the game not using enough RAM. However, this is not something related to a lack of resources, it is actually due to a memory leak that is allowed by the game itself. You can fix this by giving the game more RAM usage via the Registry Editor.
  • Graphics settings put pressure on the GPU- Another cause of this error could be the game settings that are simply too high, causing the game to stutter and not run properly. You can fix this by heading to the settings of the game in question and within it, you should disable the graphical features you don't want or simply lower the resolution.
  • Scaling behavior of DPI: According to some users who have encountered this problem, Word War 3 is also experiencing issues related to the default DPI scaling behavior which ends up causing general rendering instability on low and medium PC settings. In case you are dealing with this issue, the best thing you can do to fix it is to override the default DPI scaling behavior from the game's properties screen itself.
  • Unnecessary settings in the game: If you are trying to run the game on a low-end PC, another thing you can do to improve the experience with World War 3 is to disable certain video and game settings that will ultimately impact the overall FPS count.

Redirect more resources to your CPU

The first thing you should try is to give more power to your CPUIf you are currently dealing with low FPS issues in your game, it is important to investigate whether there is a possible CPU-related bottleneck.

It is well known that this game still has considerable glitches when it comes to redirecting available CPU resources. Fortunately, this is something you can fix through a quick regedit fix which, as mentioned, is popular among gamers.

Once you implement this solution, you will be able to dedicate more CPU to the game, meaning performance will be improved and stuttering and low FPS issues will be reduced. This is how some players have managed to get World War 3 to run smoothly.

Nota: Please try this solution if you are using an older CPU model from AMD or Intel.

Here are the steps you should follow to optimize CPU resource allocation when playing World War III on your PC:

  • You must start by opening a dialog box Run pressing the key Windows + R, then write 'regedit' to open the Registry Editor.

Nota: If prompted by the User Account Control window, click Yes to grant administrator access.

  • Once inside the Registry Editor, you must go to this location:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Image File Execution Options

Nota: You can manually go to this location or you can insert the location directly into the top bar.

  • After that, you need to create a new folder (key) by right-clicking on it. Image File Execution Options and then click New >  Key. You must name the folder WW3-Win64-Shipping.exe.

  • When you have done that, inside the WW3-Win64-Shipping.exe folder, create another folder called PerfOptions.

  • Now you need to create a value DWORD (32-bit) and name it CpuPriorityClass.

  • After that, double click on the value and change the value data  a 3, then click Accept To save the changes.

  • Once you're done with that, restart your PC and test the game to see if the FPS is still low.

In case World War III has not been solved, please see the following method below.

2. Try to fix the memory leak present in Windows

If the first solution above did nothing for you, you have just confirmed that the problem was not occurring due to a PC-related bottleneck issue, the next thing you need to investigate is a possible memory leak rooted in your RAM.

If this scenario is applicable, the next thing you should do is allocate more RAM usage to the game to improve performance.

Nota: This method will dedicate the maximum amount of available RAM to WW3 and possibly prevent stuttering.

Many members of the World War 3 community have recommended using this method in scenarios where 8GB or less of RAM is available.

Here are the steps you should take to ensure you are not experiencing frame rate and stuttering issues with World War 3 due to a memory leak:

  • Press the Windows key + R to open a dialog box Run and type the command 'regedit' in the search bar, Then you have to make sure you press where it says Log in so that it can be opened Registry Editor.
  • Now that you're inside Registry Editor, go to the following location manually or by inserting the code directly in the top bar:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\Ndu

  • Now that you are inside the folder Ndu, double click where it says Home and changes the value data a 4, then click Accept To save the changes.

  • Once you're done, restart your computer and when it reboots, launch World War 3 to see if it will run smoother than before.

If this method didn't fix your game either, check the next possible solution below.

3. Adjust the graphic settings

If the first two methods were not effective in your case, you have successfully ruled out a possible RAM leak and a CPU bottleneck from the list of possible culprits.

The next thing you need to do at this point is to start adjusting the graphics settings of the game.

Some affected players managed to improve performance on a mid- to high-end PC by forcing the World War III game to start on high performance mode from the Windows menu.

Nota: This may seem like a silly tip, but you can try playing on ULTRA (via in-game settings) although it is still not optimized, you might encounter stuttering issues as long as you are not using the latest GPU models.

If you're only using a mid-range GPU, such as the GeForce RTX™ 3050 or Radeon RX 6500XT, don't push the ULTRA settings because you won't be doing very well. In light of this, it's best to apply the high-performance graphics settings via the Windows Custom Graphics menu so that you can play the game as stable as possible.

To do this, you must go to the Graphics Settings and add the WWIII client, then change the performance to High Performance.

In case you don't know how to set the graphical settings in High performance, Here's how you can do it:

  • You need to start by opening the settings of graphics. You can do this by pressing the Windows key + R to open a dialog Run, then make sure to look for the following command 'ms-settings:display-advancedgraphics' or you can search directly from the taskbar.
  • Within the configuration of graphicsclick the button Browse to Add an App and search WW3Client.exe, then click Add.

  • Now you need to scroll through the list of applications until you find the UE4Game, then click on it and open the Options and select High performance to change performance.

  • Once you've done that, save the changes and you'll be able to close the settings. Then, make sure to open the game and test it out to check if you still encounter the low FPS issues.

If you are still unable to play World War III due to performance issues, please check the following method below.

4. Override high DPI scaling behavior

If you've burned through all of the solutions outlined above and are still experiencing frame rate and stuttering issues with World War 3 that you shouldn't (given your platform), you're likely dealing with these issues due to a DPI scaling bottleneck.

This has been reported to occur mostly Windows 11, especially in situations where players migrate to this operating system from Windows 10 or any other previous version.

If this scenario is applicable, affected players recommend that you also change the High DPI settings from the Properties menu. from the client of World War III.  This is how they have managed to fix the stuttering and low FPS errors.

In case you don't know how to override the high DPI scaling behavior, here is a guide that will help you do so:

  • You need to access the game folder. You can do this by manually searching in File Explorer for the World War 3 folder, or go to the game library. Steam and right click on it, then click Manage y Browse local files.

  • Once you are inside the World War III folder, go to the folder 13_2002999 To find the WW3Client.exe, then right click on it and go to Properties

Nota: That folder may have a different name, all you have to do is find it. WW3Client.exe.

  • After the menu appears Properties On your screen, go to the section CompatibilityThe first thing you need to do is check the box next to Disable full screen optimizations, then check the box next to Run this program also as administration.

  • Once you've done that, click on the Change High DPI Settings and check the box next to Override high DPI scaling behavior.

  • When you're done with that, save your changes and launch the game to see if it still doesn't work properly.

If none of the above methods helped you fix the stuttering and low FPS issues for WW3, check out the last method below.

5. Lower the game settings

If you still haven't managed to fix the frame rate issue in your World War 3 game with any of the methods described above, the last thing you can do is to lower the game settings and see if that works.

This can be very useful with the FPS because high settings can cause some of the aforementioned problems, so lowering them helps make the game more playable.

To enforce this you need to go to the game settings and before you go to the Video settings, First go to the settings Game and enables all available settings in Debug.

Once you're done with that, go back to the general settings menu and access the section VideoAt this point, you'll be able to significantly reduce your graphics settings.

Nota: disables all the settings it deems necessary, lowers the settings to Media or even Low if you need a higher amount of FPS. You can also lower the resolution because it will make a huge difference when it comes to stuttering and FPS issues.

Once you're done with that, save the changes and try out the WW3 game to see if the stuttering and low FPS are still present.
