Facebook Gameroom Not Installing: 7 Possible Solutions

Facebook Facebook is one of the social platforms that, in addition to keeping you in touch with others, allows you to play online. Playing on Facebook is not as immersive as playing through software designed for this purpose, which, as you know, allows you to get the most out of your experience.

This is something that Facebook has taken into account and developed its own independent application for Windows known as Facebook Gameroom.

Unfortunately, many users are experiencing problems with installing Gameroom on PC. Most of the users have faced an error i.e. «We cannot verify the validity of the downloaded file» which represents the expiration of the installer's certificates.

On the other hand, some users have also reported an error stating that libraries that are required to continue with the installation of Gameroom are missing.

Why does Facebook Gameroom installation fail on Windows?

Faceebook Gameroom cannot be installed on Windows When any of the problems mentioned below occur:

Following this, a compatibility check will be run. Then, you need to click on where it says “try recommended settings” when prompted by the system. Then you need to click on «Try the program…» to check if the problem is resolved.

After testing the installer, run it by right-clicking and selecting Run as administrator.

Solution 2: Modify the system date before the certificate expires

In case the certificate doesn't work for you, all you have to do is change the system date at least one day before the Gameroom certificate expires. In order for you to do that, you have to follow the steps below: steps 1 and 3 from the solution described above so that you can see the details corresponding to the current certificate.

Solution 4: Fix compatibility issues

In some cases, the app might not be compatible with your computer due to which this error is triggered. So, in this step, we are going to troubleshoot Gameroom's compatibility and hopefully get it working that way. For that:

  • Right click on the launcher and select "Properties".
  • Then you must click on the tab "Compatibility" and then you have to select the option "Run the compatibility troubleshooter«. You need to run the so-called compatibility troubleshooter.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to troubleshoot compatibility issues.
  • Also, check the “Run this program as an administrator” option.
  • Once you're done, click "Apply" to save the settings and check if the problem persists.

Solution 5: Completely reinstall

In certain cases, the problem is triggered if the user reinstalls their Gameroom and there are already leftover files present on the computer from the previous installation. Therefore, in this step, we will be removing these files from our PC's registry. For that:

This is considered a workaround. It involves copying a file into the so-called temporary folder. Although this probably won't work in all cases, there is evidence that it has helped some. To solve the problem you should apply the following method:

  • Browseto the following address on your computer.
  • C:\Users\(account name)\AppData\Local\Temp
  • Find a file that is about “52 Mb”.
    Nota: The file may have different names in different cases, but should be around 52 Mb.
  • Right click on this file and select "Rename".
  • Now save the file as «Gameroom.zip».
  • There must be a file called «FacebookGamesArcade.msi» in this zip file.
  • Copy this file to the temporary folder and install it.
  • Check if the problem persists.
