It is very easy to change the title of a pivot table in Microsoft Excel. Below you will find the steps to change the title of a Pivot Table, as well as the associated screenshots.

Change the title of the pivot table

Every time you create a pivot table, Microsoft Excel mechanically names it PivotTable1 and the next pivot table you create is simply named PivotTable2.

Instead of following this default naming convention, you can change the title of the Pivot Desktop to something meaningful and related to the information on the Pivot Desktop.

For example, pivot tables with the names “Gross Sales January” or “Gross Sales by Month” appear more meaningful than the default names generated by Excel (PivotTable1 and PivotTable2).

Another advantage of setting the default names for pivot tables is that you can refer to them in text and in basic coding.

Steps to change the title of the pivot table

As we have already said, it is very easy to change the title of the pivot table in Microsoft Excel.

1. Press correctly anywhere on the Spinning plate After that, click on Choosing pivot tables… in the menu that appears.

2. On the Pivot Desktop Options screen, click the following field Pivot Desktop Title and order the New title at your headquarters. In our case, we now call our headquarters “January Gross Sales by Retailer.”

3. When you are done, press the mouse button OK so as not to waste this variation.
