Enable Do Not Disturb For Specific Contacts on iPhone

It is possible to activate the Do Not Disturb function for a number of private contacts in the iPhone. This can mute only selected or private contacts on the iPhone, while allowing messages and calls from everyone else.

Enabling the “Do Not Disturb” feature for one or more specific contacts on your iPhone will come in handy in cases where you need to prevent certain contacts from bothering you, while allowing others to call you.

Depending on your situation, you can set select contacts or individual contacts to Do Not Disturb using the Messages app or the Contacts app on your iPhone.

Here are the steps to turn on Do Not Disturb mode for specific contacts on your iPhone using the Messages app and the Contacts app.

1. Activate the Do Not Disturb option for a specific contact using the messaging application

When you have a current or previous message from a selected contact, you can follow the steps below to turn on Do Not Disturb mode for that specific contact on your iPhone.

Open Message application > Click on the application dialog Contact that you just want to put on Do Not Disturb.

On the next screen, click Contact Title o Quantity after which, the touch on the "I" (Details) icon.

On the contact information screen, change EN the choice for Costume Alert and Tap on Executed in to prevent the parameters of this Contact from being lost.

This can turn on Do Not Disturb mode for that specific contact and you will not receive notifications of names and messages from that specific contact, while all other contacts will be able to name and message you.

Now, if you go into the Messages app, you will see a “half moon icon” next to messages from contacts you have put on Do Not Disturb mode.

2. Activate Do Not Disturb mode for certain contacts using the Contacts app

If you don't have a message from the contact you just want to put on Do Not Disturb mode, you can use the Contacts app to turn on Do Not Disturb for a specific contact on your iPhone.

Open Application contacts > choose the Contact that you just want to put on Do Not Disturb.

On the next screen, press the button message icon.

On the next screen, press the button Contact Title o Quantity after which the tap is opened Information icon.

On the contact information screen, change EN the choice for Costume Alertand click completed.

This way, you can put certain contacts in “Do Not Disturb” mode, even if you don’t have any messages from them.

3. Turn off Do Not Disturb mode for certain contacts on iPhone

Once the busy window or reason for which you turned on Do Not Disturb for certain contacts has ended, you can turn off Do Not Disturb at any time by following the steps below.

Open Message application > Click on Dialogs Contact you just want to turn off Do Not Disturb mode.

On the next screen, press the button Contact Title or Quantity after which, click on the button "I" (Details) icon.

On the next screen, activate the option OFF the choice for Costume Alert.
