Facebook, meanwhile, experienced difficulties in accessing servers and connecting, while WhatsApp's problems seemed to stabilise more quickly.

However, even after the 20 pm, some users were still reporting residual crashes in certain regions.

Meta responds to the incident

Shortly after the problems spread, Meta, the company led by Mark Zuckerberg, issued statements through its official accounts on the different platforms. In the case of WhatsApp, the application team published on X: «We are aware of some issues accessing WhatsApp. We are actively working on a solution and are seeing a gradual recovery.«.
