Flash movies don't play on Mac
The problem of Flash movies not displaying on Mac is because macOS is not suitable for Adobe Flash Player and can be solved by changing some browser settings to enable Flash movies to display on Mac.
Generally speaking, it is best to be able to resolve the issue of Flash movies not working on Mac using the following strategies.
- Setting up Adobe Flash Player
- Enable Flash in your internet browser
- Enable JavaScript in your internet browser
- Disable pop-up blocking
- Clear browser cache

Observe: YouTube does not use Flash and you should have no problem enjoying YouTube movies on Mac using Safari or Chrome browsers.

1. Set up Adobe Flash Player on Mac
To play Flash movies, you need to get and install the latest version of Adobe Flash Player on your Mac.
If you haven't already, you can get and set up Adobe Flash Player by visiting the official Adobe website Flash Participants Website.
Note: Make sure you configure Flash Player from the official Adobe site and never from anywhere else.
2. Activate Flash in the Safari/Chrome browser
Even after installing Adobe Flash Player, you may find that Flash movies do not work on your Mac. This is due to Safari's default settings, which only allow you to enable Flash on a site-by-site basis.
This can be fixed by going to the Safari Preferences screen and enabling Flash Player in the Plugins section.
Click on safari in the top menu bar of your Mac and click Preferences. then click Internet pages and make sure that the Adobe Flash Player plugin is selected for the website (see image below).
In the back right corner, you will see the option to enable Flash when visiting different websites. For security reasons, it is recommended to keep the default option of enabling Flash for each website.
For the Chrome browser, you can enable Flash Player support by going to the “Privacy & Security” section at the top of Chrome settings.
Click on 3 point menu in the upper right corner and click on the button Adjustments Scroll down the page and click Superior Scroll down the page once more and click on Content Settings option found in the “Privacy and Security” section.
Then click Flash and exchange EN the choice for Application first (beneficial).
3. Enable JavaScript in Safari and Chrome
To play Flash movies, JavaScript must also be enabled in your browser. So make sure JavaScript is enabled in Safari or Chrome on your Mac.
Click on safari in the top menu bar of your Mac and click Preferences. Then click the button Security divisor and test Enable Javascript choice.
For the Chrome browser, click on 3 point menu located in the upper right corner and click on Settings. Scroll down and click Starts. Next, go to the “Privacy and Security” section and click on content settings.
On the next screen, click JavaScript and activate the option Authorized (Very useful).
Some websites you get do not allow you to play movies unless you disable the pop-up blocker option in your web browser. You can try disabling the pop-up blocker for that particular website and see if you can watch the movies.
In Safari, you can disable pop-up blocking by going to the Security section of the Safari preferences screen.
In Chrome, both can allow you to choose Blocked (beneficial) in the Popups section or allow Popups for a specific website, including the website to activate the checklist in the pop-up section.
Observe: In the image above, pop-ups are only allowed for the website mentioned in the “Allow” section and are disabled for all other websites.
5. Clear browser cache
If movies still don't work, your internet browser may be caching outdated pages instead of downloading the latest ones.
To clear your cache in Chrome, click the button 3 point menu icon > Additional instruments After that, click on Delete purchase information choice.
On the next screen, make sure that “Cached photos and data” is selected and click Clear information button.

6. Uninstall/Reinstall Adobe Flash Participant
This solution may work if the Adobe Flash Player template installed on your Mac has become corrupted or outdated.
Get Flash Participant Uninstaller for Mac from Adobe's official website and follow the instructions to uninstall Flash Player on your Mac.
After removing Flash Player, restart your Mac and get/set up the latest version of Adobe Flash Player from the official Adobe website.
