Problem: Cortana cannot be activated in Windows 10

Windows 10 was packed with many features and improvements. The most popular feature, Cortana (Microsoft's personal assistant), was the one that people were eagerly waiting for. Cortana's sound is not the case for all users. We will try to fix that.

Windows 10 can't activate Cortana

Solution 1 – Check your regional settings

Microsoft says Cortana can be used in the US and the UK, as well as France, Spain, Germany, Italy, China, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Germany, Italy, and Germany. Disclaimer: Changing your country/region can have some serious consequences. It's not a big change. However, your default currency, time, and date formats may be affected. You can also see apps from your selected country in the Windows Store. But if you want to buy an app or download it only for your country, then you can change it to your home country by following the steps above.

Solution 2 – Check for updates

Microsoft provides Cortana update via Windows UpdateMicrosoft has a great opportunity to resolve the Cortana issue through Windows Update.

Go to Settings > Security to check for Windows 10 updates

Solution 3 – Check your Microsoft account

Cortana works in conjunction with your Microsoft account, just like other Microsoft features. Cortana can't be used if you're not signed in to the correct account.

Solution 4: Run the troubleshooter

There may be a problem with your computer that is preventing you from activating Cortana. Windows 10 has its own troubleshooter that can help you if this is the case. It is used for internal problems and can be very useful.

Here's how you can use the Windows 10 troubleshooting tool.

1. Click on Settings.
2. Visit Update and security > Problem solving.
3. Click here Search and indexing Click here Use the Troubleshooter.
4. You must wait for the process to finish.
5. Turn your computer back on.

Solution 5: Activate the site

Cortana needs the Location Service to work properly. If you haven't turned on Cortana yet, make sure that the Location Service is turned on. Here's how to check:

Solution 6 – Disable your antivirus
