Generally, you can answer phone calls with a text message, especially if you're in a meeting or a crowded, noisy place. Whatever the reason, you can answer phone calls with a text message using the caller ID rejection feature available on your Android phone.

The name rejection feature on your Android phone gives you a bunch of quick and ready text messages that you can use to answer calls on your phone with a text message.

Here's how to access these predefined responses on your Android phone and modify them as needed to cover most conditions in your daily life.

1. Tap the Mobile Phone on your Android phone.

2. Now tap the Extra tap (or the 3-dot Android menu icon) located in the top right corner of your screen.

3. In the small drop-down list that appears, click on Settings

4. On the next screen (Name Settings), click on Reject Name.

5. On the name rejection screen, click on Rejection Messages

6. On the next screen, you'll see that you're ready to use any pre-recorded answers that may be available on your phone. You can also add your own answer to the checklist. Tap the + sign when you've finished typing your custom answer.

Optionally, you can delete any current response, just like on your Android phone, by tapping the – (Minus) signals after the response you want to delete.

To change a current answer, simply press the button on the answer you want to edit, enter your revised answer, and press Save (See image below).

As you can see in the image above, your custom response can be up to 160 characters long.

Follow the steps below to reply to a phone number with a text message on your Android phone.

1. While your Android phone is ringing, it scrolls up from the bottom of your screen (see image below).

2. You will write down a list of ready-to-use answers or canned responses that may be present on your Android phone.

3. Tap "Sorry, I'm busy" or any other prepared response you think is true for this name. If necessary, you can even compose a new text response by typing + Compose a new message.

4. Your Android phone will send the selected text message to the caller.

Warning: Answering a phone call while driving can be dangerous for you and other road users. It is strongly recommended that you pull over to a safe location and only answer calls when your car is stopped.
